When a company has experienced the ups and downs of its industry over a long period of time and survived despite its crises, it demonstrates its unique quality. This is why the high standards with which we at Wucherpfennig & Krohn satisfy our customers today are best understood if you know the history. The company Franz Wucherpfennig started renting out vehicles, at that time these were still bicycles and carriages, as early as 1898. This clearly makes us a pioneer in our industry – a dream start that has kept us successfully on course to this day. While Wucherpfennig established itself in Hamburg and grew with the travel and mobility boom, the company Krohn was founded in 1978 in Lensahn, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and also expanded as an owner-managed company. Because they appreciated the many things they had in common, the companies decided to work together for their customers in the future in 2010. With the merger, they created a joint AVIS licence area in northern Germany and have since been using all the resulting synergies for a comprehensive range of vehicles and attractive terms. After 30 years of successful cooperation, Wucherpfennig & Krohn and Avis Budget parted ways on 31 December 2023.
